As The Great Christmas Feast is running since 2018, a lot of the costumes for Charles Dickens and the musicians (a total cast of three Charles Dickens and 9 musicians) were already on site and only needed to be fitted on the performers with some items to be sourced and made. The brown coat for the Ghost of Christmas Future is made by me out of 100% wool, cotton velvet, a lining dyed to match the colour palette created by Darling & Edge and fabric covered buttons.
The attire for the front of house crew (SIA officers, waiters, bar staff and butlers) was re-designed by me for this show and we went for a look inspired by victorian pubs and servants. The waiters and bar staff are wearing waistcoats and aprons that have been hand-printed with the logo of Charles Dickens' favourite pub, "The Cheshire Cheese" over their own base layers (white shirts, black trousers). The butler service was a new addition for the Royale ticket holders, so their attire had to be immaculate and we were able to source high quality morning coats and waistcoats for the members of staff working these roles.
For the SIA officers, it was necessary to incorporate safety regulations, so we finalised a more contemporary smart look with wool coats over black shirts and black trousers.
